Genetiks4U is a science outreach project funded by the IndiaBioscience Outreach Grants. The project aims to take the concepts of genetics to school children (Grade 9 – 12) through comics, story telling and participatory experiments, and in doing so is making genetics approachable and understandable to young people. Here, they blend the artistry of storytelling with the rigor of scientific knowledge to create a unique learning experience. Whether you are a student grappling with the complexities of DNA, a teacher seeking innovative instructional materials, or simply a curious mind eager to explore the secrets of heredity, their comics are crafted to make intricate genetic concepts accessible and enjoyable. 

Job description — coordinating with the events and checking the logistics, contacting the schools, updating the social media posts, creating content, proofreading the comics, updating the website, creating flyers and posters through canva or similar tool, collecting the feedback

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Project Coordinator (part time). We are looking for creative, passionate and enthusiastic person to join our team who is keen on public engagement and science communication and would like to contribute to this project. This project is led by Dr Chandana Basu and Dr Garima Jain at Centre for Genetic Disorders, BHU. It is a part time position at BHU and has the option of flexible working hours and will be carried out in hybrid mode (remote and on-site).

Bachelors in Life Sciences (Masters will be preferred)

If you have any experience with science outreach, public engagement, community building, worked with digital media, basic graphic design, video editing tools, or have volunteered for such events it will be preferred but not mandatory
