The Communications Office Coordinator will conduct communication and outreach efforts of the institute including activities related to participating institutes and the BLiSc Bio-Cluster. The primary focus will be engagements with schools and colleges through webinars, open days, and school or college visits, as well as science exhibitions and programs that facilitate interactions with the lay public.

The coordinator is expected to conduct all calendar-specific activities of the institute and initiate creative outreach efforts for further wider visibility of DBT-inStem and its scientific activities for the general audience and activities that will be uniquely developed for BLiSC. The incumbent will be part of a small team that oversees web content and periodic reporting on events, publications, etc.; generates content for the same as well as annual reports. The ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and the development of high-quality reports within stipulated deadlines is essential. Any other work may be assigned by Higher Authorities from time to time.

Contractual appointment for one year, renewable based on requirement and review of progress

Commensurate with experience (₹45,000/- to ₹50,000/-)

Undergraduate or postgraduate in any area of Life Sciences. 

Relevant work experience supported by documentation and testimonials. Excellent written communication skills in English in science writing/​journalism in biomedical research. Proficiency in rewriting copy/​editorial reviews to ensure the quality and accuracy of written communications.

Postgraduate Degree in communications, journalism, or public relations. Ability to distill complex biological ideas to the lay public/non-scientist. General interest in biomedical research with experience in science illustration.
