International Grants Awareness Program (iGAP)

The representation and contribution of Indian researchers (especially early and mid-career) at global platforms have increased over the last few years, thanks to the availability of international grants, fellowships, exchange programs, and collaborative efforts. Given the diversity of institutions and the number of community members, especially in the domain of Life Sciences in India, there is tremendous scope to increase the international representation of life science researchers’ in India. Several international grant agencies have pointed out that the number of applications from India for international funding and collaborations are low, and several of them fail to meet the quality standards they seek to fund and support.

IndiaBioscience believes that this problem, to a great extent, can be solved by increasing awareness and knowledge. With this belief, IndiaBioscience started the International Grants Awareness Program (iGAP) in 2020. iGAP is a project envisioned to improve the quality and quantity of applications from India to international funding opportunities. It aims to do so by awareness, education, guidance, and providing examples of previous awardees, which will together facilitate the Indian life science community.
