Karishma Kaushik is an Assistant Professor, and a Ramalingaswami Fellow at the Savitribai Phule Pune University.
She is a physician-scientist with an MD in clinical microbiology (Armed Forces Medical College, Pune) and a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (University of Texas at Austin). Her independent research group studies human-relevant approaches to complex infection states, with a focus on biofilms and wounds.
