Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT(IYBA) funded research project entitled ​“Molecular reprogramming of white adipose tissue to combat metabolic diseases” in the Laboratory of Dr. Sona Rajakumari at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. Our Research Program mainly focus on transcriptional regulation of brown adipocytes and its physiological role in metabolic diseases. For more information, please do refer the link here.

2 years or till termination of the project. However, the initial appointment will be given for 1 year and further extension will be based on the performance.

As per DBT revised norms, the NET/GATE qualified and professional degree candidates will be paid 25,000/- + 20% HRA and Non-NET andNon-GATE M.Sc candidates will be paid 12000 + 20% HRA.

The candidate must have good academic record with first class Master Degree in Life Sciences,Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or any other relevant subjects. The candidates with CSIR/UGC NET, ICMR JRF, etc. qualified are encouraged to apply, however those who are not qualified any one of the national exams are also welcome to apply. The candidates in final year of M.Sc (Result awaited) are also encouraged to apply, however the candidates should be qualified at the time of interview.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.

As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
