Research Scientist
Profile
CyGenica is seeking to hire a highly motivated team member having demonstrated experience in the following:
Molecular and cell biology techniques including mammalian cell (including stem cell and primary cells) culture, DNA and RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, various cell based assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and western blot. Good understanding, expertise and troubleshooting experience in the above techniques is a must. Good communication skills and an ability to collaborate across functional areas is essential. The candidate will contribute to the group wide deliverables and be required to work on several projects simultaneously presenting results and updates at group meetings. The successful candidate will design, perform, and analyse experiments for our preclinical programs under supervision.
Additionally, industry experience in the above skills will be preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designing and executing a multitude of in vitro experiments in cell biology/mammalian cell culture and evaluation by fluorescence (confocal) imaging, flow cytometry, styding knockdown assays by RT qPCR and western blot, ELISA and other cell based assays
- Establishing and executing various mammalian cell-based viability and potency assays, using reporter cell lines, primary cells, or transformed mammalian cell lines
- Preparing solutions and culture media
- Maintenance of multiple cell lines
- Isolating cells, proteins, particles, or analytes from experimental tissues or cell cultures
- Collect, analyse and present experimental data
- Maintain clear and complete experiment records on a daily basis
- Drafting/revising protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to work well within the team and communicate effectively
- Read relevant literature
- Support and foster a safe and efficient working environment within the Laboratory and ensure the safety of colleagues and visitors and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
- Standard lab management and routine maintenance and troubleshooting of scientific equipment.
- Any other task as and when required by company
- Adherence to company policies and instructions
Laboratory Management
- Support and foster a safe and efficient working environment within the Laboratory and ensure the safety of colleagues and visitors and adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Identifying and sourcing equipment and consumables (ordering and stocking) necessary
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of scientific equipment
- Carry out administrative work associated with the program of research as necessary
- Performs any additional tasks or projects as required
{* Position title will be senior research associate during probation period of three months if you are a fresh PhD. After confirmation of probation, it will be Research Scientist‑I (RS‑2)}
Money
Competitive compensation commensurate with the person’s experience and qualifications.
Qualification
- PhD in Biotechnology/cell biology/molecular biology/biochemistry
- MSc/MTech degree in biotechnology/life science/biochemistry/biology with 4 – 5 years of strong expertise in cell biology/western blot/RT qPCR/mammalian cell culture and fluorescence (confocal) imaging, flow cytometry, ELISA and other cell based assays.
- STRONG UNDERSTANDING and SKILLS in cell culture, fluorescence imaging and RTqPCR
- STRONG sense of RESPONSIBILITY, ETHICS, INTEGRITY and COMMITMENT to the project
Experience
- Experience with molecular and cell biology techniques including mammalian cell (including stem cell and primary cells) culture, DNA and RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, various cell based assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and western blot is must
