The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune invites applications from Indian nationals for the Post-Doctoral Fellow post purely on temporary and contractual basis.

• Assist in ongoing experiments using yeast as a model to perform genetic screens and assays.
• Help establish the mammalian cell culturing system in the laboratory along with the PI. 
• Conduct research investigating the molecular mechanisms of how cohesin complexes are loaded on the chromosomes in human cancer cells.

Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification/​s and / or experience/​s of the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.

Initially for a period of one year extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Ph.D. in Life sciences or relevant areas

• At least one first author primary research publication in a peer-reviewed, international journal.
• Candidates should have demonstrated previous experience in mammalian cell culturing and, performing molecular and cell biology techniques.

Preference: Candidates having demonstrated experience in working with mammalian cell culture using molecular genetics, cell biological and imaging approaches, previous knowledge and experience in setting up genome-wide genetic screens as well as prior experience in the research areas of epigenetics and chromosomal biology will be preferred.
