Applications are invited for the position of Principal Scientist (Biology) at Ahammune Biosciences, Pune.

Ahammune Biosciences is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing first-in class therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.  Ahammune has developed a pipeline of patented candidate drugs for vitiligo and other autoimmune/​inflammatory diseases. The lead drug candidate is currently in the clinics undergoing phase 2 clinical trials for vitiligo in India.  Ahammune has a vibrant and research-focused laboratory in Pune and is currently expanding its in-house research operations.

1. Conduct research in inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases related to skin for drug discovery
2. To carry out various assays- immunological, cell-based and/​or animal models to understand disease mechanisms
3. Establish animal models for inflammatory/​autoimmune diseases
4. Write scientific documents including manuscripts, patents, grant proposals
5. Mentor scientists and be group leaders

Ph.D. in biological sciences/​biotechnology, or in a related field, with 5 – 8 years post-doc/job experience working in academia/​ industry.

1. Expertise in cellular immunology, molecular immunology, cell and animal models relevant to diseases
2. Strong scientific background supported by high-quality publications
3. Strong evidence of writing scientific documents such as manuscripts, patents, grant proposals etc., in the relevant research field and presentations in conferences.

Desirable Requirements

1. Knowledge of inflammatory/​autoimmune diseases and mechanisms
2. Handling of large-scale omics datasets 
3. Demonstrated leadership in developing new programmes
4. Experience of large project/​programme management
