Applications are invited for the position of Teaching Fellow (TF) for Biology courses for the academic year 2025 – 26. These positions are for the Monsoon term of 2025 (starting on August 25^th, 2025) and can be extended based on performance and requirement. The TFs are required to join a week before the commencement of the monsoon semester. The TFs can avail training opportunities provided by Ashoka prior to joining.

The duties of a TF include attending the lectures, helping the professor with grading and other logistics, in addition to leading discussion sessions (Discussion Sessions), and holding office hours each week. In DSs and during office hours a TF is expected to help students understand the ideas and concepts introduced in the course, develop problem-solving skills, and, in general enlarge the intellectual imagination of the students.

TFs form part of the intellectual community of Ashoka University, which includes several outstanding researchers and a vibrant student community. The appointment will be for one semester starting from the third week of August 2025. Furthermore, the contract comes with an attractive salary. Ashoka helps TFs find accommodation in apartments in the neighbourhood of the university.

Foundation courses at Ashoka University form an essential part of its broad-based liberal arts programme. They are taken by students of all backgrounds and majoring in all disciplines. There are two 90-minute lectures per week given by a professor. TFs must take 6 Discussion sessions per week for the FC courses.

Applicants must have completed master’s in biology (or allied areas) from a recognized institution. Applicants who exhibit strong skills in undergraduate-level Biology subjects with a background in chemical and physical sciences will be given higher consideration.
