The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) is a Centre of TIFR, invites online applications for the post of Scientific Officer ​‘D’ (Electron Microscopy Facility) on a Permanent basis.

NCBS is seeking a scientist to be part of its team within the electron microscopy facility. The electron microscopy facility is equipped with multiple state-of-the-art electron microscopes and a micro-CT along with allied equipment for a range of applications including sample preparation and imaging using electron microscopy.

Age limit:- Maximum 35 years as on 01.07.2023

Level 11 (stage‑1) Basic Pay: Rs. 67,700/- + allowances as per Central Government norms.

Ph.D. in Biotechnology/​Life Sciences/​chemistry/​physics from a recognized University/​Institute.

Minimum Two (2) years post-doctoral experience in Electron Microscopy 

Desirable Experience:

1. Hands-on experience in working with modern electron microscopy systems.
2. Experience in managing electron microscopes and associated equipment.
3. Track record in developing and implementing new methods of sample preparation for Life Science specimens including sectioning, embedding and staining.
4. Experience in the use of digital technologies and tools for the acquisition, storage, and analysis of data from electron microscopes.
5. Track record and interest in training researchers in the use of electron microscopy for biological research.
