Project Description: The candidate is expected to deliver on the required project objectives. The project is with regard to ​‘Molecular analysis of root traits in relation to salinity tolerance in C4crop species’. The project will map root traits using ionomic, molecular and cell biological tools in saline tolerant and sensitive C4 vs C3 species under salinity.

3 years

• Rs. 31000/- + 24% HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
• Rs. 25000/- + 24% HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences/​Plant Molecular Biology/​Life Sciences/​Biotechnology/​Botany with minimum 60% marks

Desirable Qualification: Candidates with experience in working with field crops (physiology) and basic molecular biology methods (cDNA cloning, real time PCR) will be preferred.
