Crafting Your Career (CYC)

We have been conducting Careers in Science Workshops since 2017, and Crafting Your Career (CYC) workshops since 2019.

We develop courses/training modules to enable the scientific community and/or students to gain the necessary skills for their chosen career paths.

This multi-faceted format includes videos, podcasts, presentations, reading material, worksheets, and more.

The CYC workshops are targeted at master’s students, Ph.D. students, postdoctoral fellows, etc to provide the requisite knowledge, tools, and techniques to equip and empower them to navigate and craft their career paths.

Here we cover subjects such as —

(1) Career development/Career in science

(2) Essential skills and how to develop & nurture skills

(3) The application process for a job; the different steps involved & how to prepare

(4) Effective scientific networking

(5) Professionalism, work ethics, role models & mentors

The main aim of this project/workshops is to bring awareness amongst students about the various career paths available after earning a degree in science and to arm them with the tools to make the right choice while moving on to the next step in their career.
