Profile

Shiv Nadar University (herein referred to as the University”, https://​snu​.edu​.in/home) has been on the vanguard of India’s recent revolution in private higher education with its founding in 2011. The University is the youngest to be conferred the Institution of Eminence’ (IoE) status by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As part of the mandate for IoE, we are committed to initiate and nurture multiple interdisciplinary centers. They have recently established a Centre of Excellence in Epigenetics at the University, and the new state-of-the-art laboratory for this center now ready for occupation. The Center includes world-class facilities in genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and imaging. 

Two Postdoctoral Fellow (RA) positions; Molecular Systems Immunology (1) and Neuroepigenetics (1)

Duration

Total of three years, subject to annual evaluation of satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Money

Rs. 65,000/- to 75,000/- per month depending upon experience and selection committee’s recommendation

Qualification

PhD. (awarded) in life sciences from a recognized university / institute with a consistent academic record and relevant research experience as evidenced from thesis work carried out in a reputed scientific institution and/​or publications. 

Experience

Work experience must be using any of the following model systems is essential: human/​mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells; mouse/​rat brain; mouse/​human T cells and/​or thymocytes. PhD Degree should be awarded no earlier than Dec 2018. Under exceptional circumstances, candidates who have submitted thesis or freshly received their PhDs may be considered.

Experience with transgenic and knockout animals would be preferred. Hands on experience with advanced molecular biology techniques including quantitative RT-PCR, ChIP and NGS library preparation. Practical experience in confocal microscopy and flow cytometry/​or NGS analysis will be a useful qualification. Candidate should have published at least one first author article in peer-reviewed journal in relevant fields.
