National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) invites applications from suitable individuals for the position of Field Workers on contract basis.

The project aims to understand traits associated with drought tolerance in saplings of dry deciduous tree species to model their response to climate change and invasive species in a dry tropical ecosystem. The work will involve data collection in the field and greenhouse. Candidates will be expected to work with senior members to manage field assistants, organize and implement field work, plan and implement greenhouse experiments, collate and compile data, and conduct preliminary analysis. Knowledge of Kannada or Tamil is desirable but not mandatory. Ability to drive 2 and/​or 4‑wheeler in field conditions is highly preferred.

Initially, the position will be for a period of 6 months, further extendable for a year with necessary review.

Rs.18,000/- + HRA as applicable.

BSc in life science, environment, ecology, or allied field.
