IIT Madras offers PDF for women with Break in career with Ph.D with an objective of maintaining awareness and interest in high quality academic research in the engineering departments of Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Engineering Design, Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials and Ocean and in the departments of Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics and Physics.
The focus of the scheme is primarily to sustain and nurture the involvement of women with Ph.D who could not pursue their interest in research due to personal / professional reasons. In other words the scheme is not intended for career advancement of those for whom alternate avenues for research are open and availableDuration
The duration of the fellowship will vary from 2 to 6 months, consisting of 2 to 3visits, each visit not less than two months. After the first visit, the Department at its discretion may extend the fellowship to a maximum total duration limited to ONE YEAR.
Money
Details of Support:
a)Between Rs.30,000 — Rs.35,000/- (consolidated) per month.
b)Return Train Fare by II AC from place of residence in India to IIT Madras.
c)Suitable accommodation as per IIT norms will be offered, if requested and, if available.
Qualification
Candidates should have a Ph.D in the appropriate discipline. There is no agelimit prescribed.
Candidates already employed are not eligible to apply.
