Junior Research Fellow
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for Junior Research Fellow position in ‘Mica based sub-nm pores’ for a research project funded by MHRD-STARS IISC, Government of India.
The appointment is for 1 year, extendable upto 3 years or completion of the project, whichever is lower.
Rs. 31,000/month +HRA @24%/month
Eligibility: Post graduate degree in basic science or Graduate/Postgraduate in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE.
b. The selection process through national level examination conducted by MHRD, its agencies and institution such as UGC/IIT/IISc./IISER/IIIT etc.
Job Description: The candidate will be required to exfoliate thin mica sheets with different
exfoliation methods. The candidate will perform ion transport measurement with an
electrochemical cell. The candidate will also learn water transport measurements, data
acquisition with LabVIEW programs. The candidate will work on the cutting edge problems
in nanotechnology and beyond. The candidate should be highly motivated, academically
sound, willing to accept challenges and who is able to work independently.
