Multiscale modeling of biological processes such as protein folding, DNA repair pathways, and transport across membrane proteins


Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics at IIIT Hyderabad is looking to hire a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the areas of computational chemistry and computational biology. The candidate will have the flexibility to choose and work on a research problem after discussions with the mentor. Some of the areas that we are actively working on include mechanisms of ion channels and transporter proteins, DNA repair pathways, thermodynamics of protein folding equilibrium upon addition of cosolvents, force field development, and study of chemical reaction mechanisms. We routinely employ methods such as molecular dynamics simulations, umbrella sampling free energy calculations, thermodynamic integration, metadynamics, CPMD, QM/MM methods and high level quantum mechanical calculations. We have recently started working on obtaining accurate force fields using machine learning and deep learning algorithms.


One year and possibility to extend for an additional year

Candidate should have a PhD degree


Candidates must have obtained a PhD (or must have submitted the thesis) in related areas. Prior experience in bimolecular simulations and in quantum chemistry is preferred.
