This week's #FundaySunday is by Mrunal Kulkarni. Mrunal Kulkarni is a Drosophila Biologist and a Neuroscience enthusiast. Mrunal says - "Science is all around us. Through my simple doodles, I try to depict science as everyday life, as we see it, by incorporating simple patterns and elements of nature. When I'm not drawing science objects, I enjoy drawing mandalas".

In this illustration, this is a drosophila mutant w1118 that got its name after the day on which it was discovered, Nov 18, which fly biologists over the world are now celebrating as fly day. This white-eyed mutant is one of the most widely used strains for the generation of transgenic flies, and the white gene has functions much more than just giving the eye color.
