Event Details

This IBRO-APRC Associate School of Neuroscience will include elaborate seminars by experts from academia and clinicians, and interactive discussions thereafter on cutting-edge technologies and the state-of-the-art tools. The School will offer an opportunity to the students to achieve the deep insights into the field of neuroscience and the advances in technologies that could be utilized to understand the complex phenomenon operated by neural systems.

This 6 days Associate School will consist of Seminars, group discussions, presentations by participants and hands-on training on some cutting-edge technologies. Total 25 senior Ph.D. and postdoctoral students will be selected for the school; 20 students from India and 5 from Asia Pacific regions. The scientists from academic and research institutions and experts from industries with excellent credentials will be invited to deliver the seminars, serve as members on panel discussions and also interact with the students. The students will be offered to present their work and technical details about their research. During the presentations, the student will be requested to propose how he/she can utilize the modern tools to address the questions in their research. Scientists and students will engage in panel discussions on different research areas and relevant technologies. Students will present the posters about their ongoing research and the best poster will receive the award after thorough scrutiny by the experts.

In terms of technical demonstrations, the goat brain dissection explaining the entire neuroanatomy will be shown to the participants. Cutting-edge techniques such as metabolomics, robotic arms, optogenetics, computational analysis of network activity, high-resolution refractory task assay, etc. will be demonstrated. The School will conclude on the sixth day with a valedictory function followed by farewell dinner for the participants and eminent scientists to socialize and discuss collaboration options.
