IISER Pune presents the Skill-enhancement for Under-Represented Groups in Education (SURGE) workshop. All expenses covered 7‑day long Molecular Biology Workshop for Masters students from SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/ Women students from Tier II and Tier III cities.
Who can apply:
Students who fulfil all the three conditions mentioned below
• Masters students from marginalized groups (SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, EWS, Women)
• Studying in institutes located in Category Y and Z cities of India
• Currently enrolled in a post graduate course (M.Sc.) or IV‑V year of an Integrated Masters Program / BTech in any branch of life-sciences. IV‑V year MBBS/BAMS students can also apply.

• Hands-on experiments for all participants
• Cutting-edge techniques in molecular biology
• Visits to academic/industrial facilities
• Talks by renowned scientists
• All expenses (travel, accommodation, meals, registration) covered by organizers
• Certificate upon successful completion.
Content:
• Restriction-based gene cloning
• In silico plasmid editing and primer designing
• Gene expression quantification (qPCR)
• Protein expression check and confirmation.
