Membrane-spanning peptide pores for single-molecule sensing

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research program entitledMembrane-spanning peptide pores for single-molecule sensing” in the laboratory of Dr. Mahendran K R at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

Duration

3 years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The initial appointment will be given for one year and further extension will be based on the performance.

Money

25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or Post Graduates in Professional Degree course qualified candidates. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.

Qualification

The candidate must have good academic record with a minimum of 70% marks in Master’s Degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics or Biochemistry. Candidates with M.Tech degree are also eligible to apply.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualification in National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET/GATE).

  • Experience in working with membrane proteins, biophysical analysis of proteins, single-molecule techniques, synthetic cells, nanosciences, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry.
