Role of Periostin-Integrin-αv in adult and fetal hematopoiesis

Profile

Applications are invited for full time post-doctoral fellow position in the Stem Cell Lab (Khurana lab; link) @IISER TVM. The group is involved in active research to unravel the regulatory mechanisms underlying hematopoietic stem cell function. Highly motivated candidates with proficiency in mouse work, cell culture, flowcytometry and imaging techniques will be preferred. The project entitled Role of Periostin-Integrin-αv in adult and fetal hematopoiesis” is funded by Wellcome trust-DBT India Alliance and involves analysis of hematopoietic system using a variety of transgenic mouse models.

The selected candidates will work in a young lab working at the forefront of stem cell research. Research in the lab is centered around functional regulation of hematopoietic stem cells, the most well known stem cells to clinic. Researchers in the lab work on molecular and bioenergetic regulation of stem cell function during fetal and adult hematopoiesis. Niched’ in a very stimulating environment of School of Biology at IISERTVM, the lab provides a platform for young researchers to acquire expertise in cutting edge basic research and technology. Independent thinking and new ideas will always be welcome to address relevant questions in the field.

1 year, extendable based on performance

Money

Rs. 36,000 + HRA

Qualification

A PhD degree in any field of biology with a proven track record of high quality research in terms of peer reviewed articles.
• Should have excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience in using mouse model and imaging will be preferred
