Positions are available for Post-doctoral fellows in a Teams Science Grant supported by the India Alliance working in the laboratory of Prof. Sandhya S. Visweswariah in the Department of Developmental Biology and Genetics at the Indian Institute of Science. (https://sites.google.com/view/sandhya-s-visweswariah/welcome)
The work relates to the roles of cGMP signalling in the gut and mechanisms that mediate inflammation. Interest also lies in understanding the genetic basis of inflammatory bowel disease in the Indian population using whole exome sequencing and further molecular analysis using cell line model systems. Gut organoid cultures will be established to investigate cell-intrinsic changes in the intestinal epithelia in response to elevated cGMP levels.
Duration
The position will be initially for a year which can be renewed for an additional two years based on performance.
Qualification
Candidates should have a PhD in Life Science
Experience
Candidates should have experience in cell and tissue culture, basic molecular biology and an understanding of human genetics.
