A Project Associate‑1 position funded by DBT is available in Rohit Joshi’s Lab of Drosophila Neural Development at CDFD, Hyderabad. The laboratory is broadly interested in central nervous system patterning and development. They are looking for an intelligent, out of box thinker who is enthusiastic and willing to learn new approaches, with the capability of using Linux based platform for NGS data analysis arising out of ChIP-Seq and RNA-seq experiments. Prior experience in such data analysis will be preferable though not an absolute requirement. Basic working knowledge of molecular biology will be helpful.

Upto 6 months initially. Can be extended till project duration based on performance.

• Rs. 31,000 + HRA/ pm for candidates selected through CSIR-UGC NET including lecturer-ship and GATE. Selection process through National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, ICMR etc. OR
• Rs 25,000 +HRA/ pm for candidates without NET or GATE.

Master’s degree in bioinformatics/​Biochemistry/​Biotechnology or relevant scientific discipline Or Bachelor’s degree in Technology.

Experience with computational/​bioinformatics tools used for NGS analysis, proficiency with using Linux and BASH or other similar shell, comfortable in developing code in Python and/​or R for data analysis and visualization.
