ATREE is seeking highly motivated Senior Research Associates to enhance our collaborative research efforts in natural and social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Collate, analyze, and produce geospatial data using both proprietary and open-source RS-GIS platforms.
• Coordinate field teams and collect primary geospatial data from remote locations.
• Prepare high-quality thematic maps on land use, topography, hydrology, species distribution, and land degradation.
• Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and reports.
• Develop and maintain state-of-the-art geospatial methods and products.
• Support teaching and assist ATREE faculty and students with geospatial data analysis.

Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, RS-GIS, or Life Sciences with 5+ years of relevant research experience.

• Proficiency in satellite image analysis, vector data processing, and thematic map preparation.
• Experience with open-source and proprietary RS-GIS platforms (e.g., Google Earth Engine, QGIS, ArcGIS).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in coding (JavaScript, Python, R, or PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with proprietary RS-GIS platforms (e.g., TerrSet, ENVI).
