The PhD Programme in Biological and Life Sciences at the School of Arts and Sciences of Ahmedabad University provides a lively exchange with experts from across the academic disciplines and various global partnerships, and the programme grants access to state-of-the-art laboratories. The scope of the division’s research spans pure and applied biological sciences ranging from ​‘ecosystem to molecules’.

Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit research university founded in 2009 by Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), offering a liberal education focused on interdisciplinary learning and research thinking.

The applicant must have completed a Master’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of fifty five (55%) per cent marks or an equivalent grade in any of following areas: Life Sciences. Areas: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Nanotechnology, Toxicology, Bioinformatics, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Forensic Sciences (Biology/​Chemistry) or an equivalent degree in subjects related to biological sciences.

In exceptional cases, a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree may be admitted to the programme, albeit with the requirement of completing additional credits as per the overall PhD policy of Ahmedabad University.
