Who can attend

The following categories of researchers are eligible to apply for YIM 2027:

i) Postdoctoral Fellows (PDFs)

Applications are welcome from Postdoctoral Fellows from all over the world, including India, who are working broadly in the area of life sciences and have an interest in pursuing an independent life science research career in India. The applications must be filled out online and require the following details:

a) Curriculum Vitae (Download format from here)

b) Short write-up on the research work (for the poster and lightning talk)

c) Statement of purpose about why you want to participate in YIM 2027

d) Experience letter from the institute/supervisor/advisor

In past years, we have had more PDFs apply than we can accommodate at YIM due to the size of our venue. We assure you that we are absolutely fair in our selection and your application will be carefully reviewed by a selection panel. We consider many factors (not just publications), including years as a postdoctoral fellow, your field of research, clarity of your written statements, plan to return to India to establish a research group, experience letter and whether you have attended a previous YIM (you can attend a YIM only once as a PDF).

ii) Young Investigators (YIs)

Applications are welcome from young investigators from various areas of the life sciences who are currently in the early years (<5 years) of their career as independent research investigators in an academic institute/university/organisation. The applications must be filled out online and require the following details:

a) Curriculum Vitae (Download format from here)

b) Research focus and vision

c) Statement of purpose describing why you want to participate in YIM 2027

d) Experience letter from your institute (clearly stating experience of less than five years of starting an independent research position)

e) Short write-up (not more than 250 words) on the research work (for the poster)

For taxi and bus reimbursements, proof of payment via a receipt is required. If you have questions on reservation categories for train tickets, please email us at yim2027[at]indiabioscience[dot]org. Airfare/train reimbursements will require boarding pass/tickets as proof. Please share physical copies of this during YIM 2027 at the registration desk.

PDFs are expected to take care of their international airfare themselves; only domestic airfare/train fare (from an airport/railway station in India to Chandigarh/Mohali and back) will be covered by IndiaBioscience.
