Department of Biotechnology invites applications under the *Biotechnology Career Advancement and Re-orientation (BioCARe) Programme for Women Researchers* for the Year 2026 – 27.

• The fellowship is open to Indian Women Nationals upto the age of 55 years residing in India who are unemployed as on the closing date of the application. The fellowship is co-terminus with the duration of the project. 
• The application can be submitted under Category‑I: Women researchers who have completed Ph.D. in any discipline of Biotechnology/​Life Sciences or allied areas/​interdisciplinary sciences/​MD/​MDS/​ M.V.Sc. or Category-II: Women researchers who have completed M.Tech. in Biotechnology or in allied areas/M.Pharma/equivalent Degree holders. Candidates who are registered or enrolled in higher studies/Ph.D and/​or receiving any fellowships are not eligible to apply. 
• The research support will be provided only to women researcher (unemployed/​not in regular position) for whom this is the first extramural research grant (Women researchers who have received any earlier grant from any Government Funding Agency as Principal Investigator are not eligible).
