As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Syngene International Limited (“Syngene” or ​“we” or ​“our”) invites applications from Junior Faculty (Assistant Professors or equivalent) engaged in life sciences Research at Indian research institutes and universities for Syngene Early Career Research Grant (SECRG) 2026 – 2027. These grants are intended to help promising junior faculty establish research independence and work on high risk-high reward projects to foster innovative solutions for healthcare.

This initiative seeks to:

• Promote cutting-edge research with meaningful societal impact 
• Encourage innovation in science and technology to support national development in healthcare 
• Foster scientific interactions between academia and industry 

Why should you apply?

• Funding without any conditions. 
• The grant provides opportunities for junior faculty to understand the application of their basic research to solving health care-related problems. It also provides an avenue for networking with industry experts and understanding how medicines are discovered. 

• A PhD degree in science. Post-doctoral training is a benefit but not necessary. 
• Applicants must be Assistant Professors or Junior Research Faculty with experience not exceeding 8 years after PhD as of December 2026. 
• A permanent position in an Indian university or research institute. 
• The Institute/​University must have CSR Registration Number to receive the Grant. 
• This call is not open to Post-Doctorate Fellows.
