The science of climate change will be briefly described leading to the principles of carbon
accounting. Why knowledge of carbon accounting is important for a focused response to the challenge of climate change will be discussed.

The basic framework of carbon accounting (the scopes) will be outlined. The personal carbon footprint calculator and the online course on Basic carbon accounting will be introduced. The carbon neutral campus initiative will be described in brief.
