qPCR and Data Analysis

Event Details

Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) or quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR), is a powerful and sensitive technique used to quantitatively measure the nucleic acids (DNA or RNA). Due to its specificity, fidelity, and efficiency, qPCR has been used worldwide for a wide range of applications, including diagnostics, quantification of gene expressions, clinical quantification and genotyping, etc. However, high quality data as well as reproducible qPCR results are essential and can be affected by various experimental variables.

This workshop will provide hands-on exposure to qPCR primer designing, experimental design, preparing qPCR mix, setup of qPCR machine (Bio-Rad CFX Opus 96) and data analysis. This workshop will be useful for the participants to develop qPCR based novel diagnostics kits for various infectious diseases.

The event is fully hands-on , hence the participants numbers are restricted to 20.
