The Department of Biological Sciences, School of Engineering and Sciences, SRM University — AP, Andhra Pradesh, together with the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru, is organizing a three-day National Conference on ​“CRISPR/​Cas: From Biology to Technology”, iCRISPR-2021, in Virtual Mode. The conference is scheduled for November 25 – 27, 2021. Distinguished speakers from across India will steer the conference with their thoughts, opinions and research in the field of CRISPR/​Cas. In addition to creating awareness about the state-of-the art technological and ethical aspects of CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing in India, iCRISPR-2021 will also provide opportunities for scientific exchange and networking. Lastly, on November 24, 2021, a workshop on ​”Communicating Science and Crating your Career in Science” will be conducted by IndiaBioscience with support from DBT-Wellcome Trust India Alliance.

iCRISPR-2021 is a three day conference with a target audience of students, academic and industrial researchers, and policy makers. Scientists from eminent institutions including CSIR-IGIB, NCBS, IITs, IISERs, IISc, UoH, THSTI, Thermo Frisher Scientific, Reliance Industries Ltd., and others will discuss ongoing CRISPR/Cas-based cutting-edge research.

The goals of the conference are two-fold:

1. To build awareness of the diverse CRISPR/Cas-related research activities that are currently underway in India
2. To create a platform for Indian CRISPR/​Cas researchers to discuss their work, exchange ideas, and network.
