It is our privilege to announce that the Centre for Excellence in Inborn Errors of Metabolism (CE-IEM), Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, is organizing the IEM Metabolic Meet 2022 on the theme ​“Mitochondrial cytopathy: A minuscule initiative” on the 30^th of October 2022.

The conference aims to enable knowledge exchange and capacity building in the field of paediatric mitochondrial cytopathies. It would be immensely enriching for the faculties and postgraduate students of biochemistry, paediatrics, genetics, medicine, OBG, allied health, and life science specialities.

The conference will be preceded by a pre-conference workshop on the ​“Basics of Newborn Screening through a minimally invasive approach” on the 29^th of October 2022. The workshop aims to enable capacity building in basic newborn screening (NBS) workflow and basic interpretation of NBS tests and would enable adaptation, and implementation of NBS in any health care facility and establish long-term support and collaboration with the Centre for Excellence in Inborn Errors of Metabolism, KMC, Manipal.
