The International Workshop on Aquaculture Medicine and Aquatic Animal Health Management in Asia-Pacific: Status, Constraints and Way Forward (AQUAMAP25) organized by the National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health (NCAAH), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi, India will be held on 16 – 18, January 2025.

The workshop addresses the status, challenges, and future course of action in aquaculture medicine and aquatic animal health management across Asia-Pacific. It brings together Researchers, Scientists, Students, Technocrats and Industry Professionals and Policy Makers to look deep into the aquatic animal health management scenario in the region to evolve innovative solutions to the most destabilizing component in fish production, diseases. The event will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, establishment of collaboration, and development of strategies for the advancement of aquaculture health management in Asia – Pacific. 

Focal themes of the workshop:
Diseases in Aquatic Animals:
Viral Pathogens, Bacterial pathogens, Fungal pathogens, Protozoan and metazoan parasites, Non-pathogenic diseases.

Disease Diagnosis in Aquatic Animals: Assessment of environmental quality, Clinical signs, internal and external gross pathology, Histology and ultrastructure, Nucleic acid-based diagnostics, Antibody- based diagnostics, Viral Pathogens.

Sustainable Aquaculture Production Systems:
Sustainability in aquaculture-based food production, Sustainable feeds, and responsible feed management, Sustainable fish production systems, Ecosystem- based approach in aquaculture, Aquaculture candidates for food production, and nutritional sustainability.
