Applications are invited for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and PhD positions in the Computational Biology group of Dr.Nithya Ramakrishnan at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru. The projects include

1. Application of graph algorithms and information theory for bioinformatics analysis
2. Modelling the epigenetic and immunological processes using Machine Learning.
3. Development of Deep Learning models for Gene expression prediction

The research positions will be offered initially for 6 months and extended based on performance and satisfactory progress until project funding is available. PhD aspirants are strongly encouraged to apply. Hostel facility within the campus is available.

As per IBAB norms.

• Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biology or related subjects with at least 65% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university. (Or)
• B.Tech /B.E in Computer Science/​Electronics and Communication/​Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with at least 65% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
• candidate should have done Maths as part of their grade 12

• Excellent coding skills (preferably in Python and/​or R) and proficiency in Unix environments (Please provide links to previously written code in the resume).
• Knowledge and experience in applying Machine Learning algorithms to real-world data.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, motivated and team player.
