Jobs
Computational Biophysicist / Mathematical Modeler
Profile
Ceremorphic Technologies Pvt Ltd is looking for a mathematically rigorous scientist who can translate cell biology into precise, scalable quantitative models. In this role, you will develop the core computational engines behind our virtual cell — ODEs, PDEs, and stochastic simulators — and push them to capture real biological complexity, including feedback, oscillations, bistability, spatial diffusion, and noise.
This position requires a PhD in Biophysics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 2 – 5+ years of experience building quantitative biological models.
Key Skills and Experience
- Expert-level programming in Python or Julia
- Experience with stiff ODE solvers (e.g., LSODA, CVODE) and numerical methods
- Proficiency in finite difference / finite element methods
- Strong grounding in stochastic modeling (Gillespie, tau-leaping, SDEs)
- Experience with sensitivity analysis, Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, model reduction, and identifiability
- Equally important is strong biological intuition — the ability to extract quantitative insight from experimental literature and translate it into robust models.
You will collaborate closely with systems biologists and molecular modelers to ensure mathematical rigor aligns with biological reality.
If nonlinear dynamics feels like art and stiff equations are your happy place, we would love to talk.
Qualification
PhD in Biophysics, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or Physics with biology applications.
Experience
- Strong mathematical background (dynamical systems, numerical analysis)
- 2 – 5 years building quantitative biological models
- Track record of solving complex ODE/PDE systems
