Workshop on Framing Evidence-based Science Policy

Nominations are invited from 2 to 3 promising early to mid-career professionals from the organisation to participate in this workshop.The workshop is being jointly organised by Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education at IISER Pune and Newton-Bhabha Fund (British Council) and will be conducted by experienced trainers from Dialogue Matters, UK. The workshop particularly helps people who are involved in making first draft of any vision, policy, or strategy document.
Participants will get an overview of elements that go into science policy making with some pointers on how to develop policies such that the process of policy making builds momentum for implementation and real change for the better. The workshop will give participants an understanding and many skills & techniques required to write policy documents that are well evidenced and informed from all relevant perspectives, and are well worded & communicated. There will be in-depth discussions and assignments that will give participants a feel for careers in this field.
Who is it for: Early to mid-career professionals, working in organisations around science, technology, earth and oceanic science, environment, forest and agricultural policy… and who are keen to learn!
How to Participate: Directors / Heads of Department of organisations working in the above areas are requested to nominate employees fitting the given eligibility criteria, to participate in the workshop:
1. Early / mid-career employees (preference will be given to women candidates)
2. Holding at least a master’s degree in any branch of science, public policy or economics
3. Who are themselves enthusiastic to do this training
