Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad is inviting applications for two Junior Research Fellow positions for cell & molecular biology and biochemistry & biophysics research in the labs of Dr. Manish Jaiswal and Dr. Anand T Vaidya. The 1st project aims to understand the genetic and molecular mechanism of mitochondrial quality control/biogenesis and metabolic diseases using Drosophila and human cell lines. The project involves genetic screening, genome editing, genomics, proteomics, histology and confocal imaging.
The 2nd project aims to understand the molecular details of mitochondrial cristae architecture using structural biology approaches. The project involves protein expression and purification, followed by biophysical and biochemical analyses.
Selected individuals will be part of an interdisciplinary research environment with opportunities to learn classic and state-of-the-art research technologies.
