The Research Management Programme aims to strengthen research ecosystems in India by building capacity for research management. Building on the foundations of the India Research Management Initiative (IRMI), the programme aims to build institutional capacity for managing large-scale research and promote the development of institutional frameworks to align research, practice, and policy and foster collaboration.

Applications for Research Management (RM) funding opportunities are accepted under the following categories:

Research Management Fellowships: Support for Research Managers at early stages of their career to establish a research management office/​cell.

Research Management Grants: Support to institutions in India for enhancing existing research management support services. This funding may also be used for creating new RM resources.

Research Management Travel Bursaries: Support for Research Managers towards the costs of attending international conferences or learning opportunities in the area of Research Management.

3 different tenures.

• The Research Management Fellowship is a full-time three-year Fellowship with a maximum value of ₹ 28.0 Lakh.
• The Research Management institutional grant is for a period of 12 months with a maximum value of ₹ 9.0 Lakh.
• Travel funding to a maximum of ₹3.0 Lakh towards travel, visas, accommodation, meeting registration and other costs may be availed.
