SRF position for CEFIPRA funded project ​‘Pre-evoutionary processes in autocatalytic RNA networks’

The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) — Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a premier research centre carrying out frontier research in the biological sciences located in Bangalore.

NCBS is hosting a CEFIPRA grant to study, experimentally and theoretically, how an RNA system could self-sustain from smaller fragments, and be evolved according to the laws of natural selection, in the absence of template-based replication. This is a collaborative effort involving NCBS, Bangalore, and ESPCI, Paris. Applications are invited for a SRF position at NCBS to study theoretically the dynamics of RNA-based autocatalytic sets.

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional

Two years of research experience

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated expertise and experience in mathematical modelling of biological systems using ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and agent-based approaches.
