Profile

NCBS, in collaboration with TIGS, has embarked on a project to set up a clinical research platform, a dedicated end-to-end infrastructure, to work on infectious disease and neglected rare diseases, as part of a large scale translational health research using genomics and advanced cell biology. The project will focus on both in-house translational research and a collaborative services section to support product development efforts of govt. agencies, industry and start-ups. The facility covers work on virology, bacteriology, human immunology and RNA therapeutics and is designed to further strengthen national infectious and neglected rare disease priorities.

For this project, NCBS invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Program Manager on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate is expected to help in the management, facilitation and monitoring of the activities of the project. The role requires the ability to work both independently and in teams.

Key duties of the Program Manager will include:

  • Project coordination, communication with scientists and clinicians of the participating institutions.
  • Organizing meetings of the stakeholders including patient groups, government officials etc. 
  • Coordinating and facilitating regulatory and other relevant clearances related to the project.
  • Assisting with organizing and curating scientific meetings relevant to the project.
  • Working with administrative teams and other departments at NCBS and TIGS as required for efficient management of the program, including (but not limited to):
    • Managing procurement matters for the project at NCBS, working with the administration of NCBS and TIGS as required. 
    • Coordinating with the Communications team of NCBS and TIGS as required for the program.
  • Outreach to external stakeholders on behalf of the program.
  • Undertaking any other duties that may be required from time to time to assist with the work of the project

Duration

The position is based at NCBS and is available immediately for a period of up to one year, extendable based on review and funds availability.

Money

Rs. 1 lakh per month (consolidated).

Qualification

MBBS with research experience (preferable) or PhD in Biomedical sciences.

Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Familiarity (oral & written) with Hindi and Kannada Languages is preferred for interaction with patient groups
  • The ability to analyse, summarize and communicate information and familiarity with digital platforms for communication of text and data and for interactions.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
