Grants Adviser
Profile
National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) invites applications from suitable individuals for the position of Grants Adviser.
The Grants Adviser will be a member of the Research Development Office (RDO) at NCBS and will work to provide advice on and support with grant applications from national and international funding sources.
Key duties of the Grants Adviser will include:
- Curating grant information for the RDO funding database and managing RDO website
- Dissemination of grant information via Newsletters, workshops and other mechanisms
- Pre-application grants advice to NCBS researchers on extramural funding agencies, schemes and deadlines
- Comprehensive pre-award support (including budget support) for extramural grant applications from campus. Due diligence on prepared grant applications and coordinating submissions to different funding agencies.
- Assistance with activating new grants and awards to NCBS researchers
- Outreach to the agencies supporting campus research, as required
- Organizing funding/grantsmanship workshops
- Working across with colleagues at the RDO and other departments at NCBS as needed
- Undertaking any other duties that may be required from time to time
Duration
The appointment will be a fixed-term position initially for one (1) year and renewable annually subject to the outcome of a performance assessment. The position comes with consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, subject to institutional guidelines.
Money
Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification.
Qualification
MSc in Life Sciences.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the relevant field viz., grants management/research management etc.,
- Proven communication skills
- Strong time-management and interpersonal skills
- Initiative, enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work
- The ability to analyze, summarize and communicate information
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional relevant experience (desirable):
• PhD in life Sciences
