Molecular and Pharmacogenetic marker evaluation in relation to the toxicity and clinical response of acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment in Indian children (MPGx-INDALL)

Profile

A Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position funded by DBT India is open in Department of Medical oncology, at JIPMER, Puducherry, India. The study involves genotyping, sequencing, collection of clinical data and performing association analyses. 

The successful candidate will contribute to project in terms of contributing with establishing robust genotyping methodology, sample processing and management, clinical data curation. The person will also assist in daily laboratory operations, including maintaining inventories and ordering supplies related to the project. Training and mentorship specific to the project will be provided.

  • Eenthusiasm for solving research problems or validating the research answers, passion to learn and be able to maintain consistency in implementing the procedures.
  • Age limit is 35 years of age

Duration

Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable upon satisfactory performance for the entire duration of the project. 

Money

Salary and benefits are commensurable to educational qualifications, prior experience and in accordance with Department of Biotechnology, Government of India guidelines. Pay is approximately INR35,000 per month + HRA for the city of Puducherry.

Qualification

Post-graduate degree in a relevant field M.SC in Life science/​Biochemistry (biotechnology/​Pharmacology. OR equivalent with NET/FGATE qualification and 2 years of research experience

Experience

Experience with Molecular biology techniques, HPLC, LC-MS/MS, Next generation sequencing, flow cytometry an advantage, but not mandatory.
