AcSIR, with its headquarters in Chennai, operates with a centralised administrative unit, 37 laboratories and six units of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), spread across India. The Academy facilitates trans-disciplinary research in biology, with its strong network of highly diverse, technology enabled and industry-linked research groups of CSIR. In addition to the PhD programmes in Science and Engineering, the intergrated- PhD, MSc and MTech courses provide avenues in research ranging from molecular biology to clinical research.
