Evolution and diversity of the DNA damage response

Event Details

This conference will address an important, and often overlooked aspect of the DNA damage response (DDR): the evolutional divergence of underlying processes and pathways. DDR mechanisms are evolutionary conserved from prokaryotes to metazoans; however, tissue- and species-specific divergence has emerged in the course of evolution and contributed to the development of additional layers of complexity. This EMBO Workshop will specifically cover the different aspects of the DNA damage response from the perspective of evolutionary, tissue‑, and organ-specific diversity, as well as their impact on human health and disease. They expect significant representation of participants from all over the world including India. The major themes of the conference and invited speakers are indicated on the website (https://meetings.embo.org/even…).
