Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) was established in the year 2006. SIET, an Autonomous institution, is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The institution is accredited by NAAC with "A" grade. Eight departments BME, BT, ECE, EEE, CSE, IT, Mechanical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering are NBA accredited. SIET was founded by Dr. S Thangavelu, an academician with 28 years of experience in TNAU, with the motto of “Powering the Youth; Empowering the Nation”.
The Institution currently offers 13 UG programs, 5 PG programs and five Ph.D. programs. The institute has bagged research projects totaling about Rs 200 Lakhs from major government funding agencies including FST-SERB, DST- NRDMS, DAE- BRNS, etc. In a short span of 17 years, the institute has accomplished excellence in education and research and aims to be a leading university that would be the dream destination for engineering students.
