    This is a multi-institutional collaborative project between M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, Vellore Institute of Technology and University of Hyderabad. Title of the project — Haplotype based validation of the role of a lectin gene (SalT) operational at the interface of abiotic (salinity) and biotic (blast disease) stress resistance through in-planta as well as ex-planta strategies.

    Junior Research Fellow
    Ahmedabad University

    Applications are invited for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in Prof. Krishna B. S. Swamy’s laboratory at Ahmedabad University under an ANRF – ARG funded project.

    Project Overview: Candida species are common members of the human microbiota but can become opportunistic pathogens under specific conditions. This project aims to understand how interactions between different Candida species influence their evolution, fitness, and transition from commensalism to pathogenesis. The research combines experimental evolution, fungal genetics, microbiology, host– pathogen interaction studies, microscopy, flow cytometry, genomics, transcriptomics, and bioinformatics to uncover the molecular basis of dual-species candidiasis.
