About the Workshop

It is a two-hour online workshop designed for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and early-career researchers navigating career opportunities within and beyond academia. The workshop brings together AI literacy, CV writing, research integrity and career developmentto help participants understand both how AI tools can shape their CVs and how their CVs may be interpreted by others.

Through interactive modules and a hands-on session, participants will learn how language models work and why bias can enter AI systems, how to structure and tailor a CV for different career pathways, and how to distinguish effective self-presentation from embellishment or misrepresentation. The workshop will also explore the risks of AI-assisted CV writing, including fabricated or inflated claims, factual errors, generic language, biased phrasing, loss of individual voice and privacy concerns.

The session will culminate in a live AI-assisted CV audit, followed by an opportunity for participants to apply the audit checklist and tailoring principles to their own CVs.

Participants will leave with practical tools and frameworks to write clearer, more purposeful and accurate CVs, while using AI critically, responsibly and ethically.
