India Science Book Fellowship has been recently launched by the Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) to promote popular science books as a prominent literary genre in India, and in the long term, develop a cadre of high-quality science writers in the country. The fellowship also places a special emphasis on encouraging scientists to write and publish non-fiction science books. 

The Fellowship has a stellar selection committee that includes an international panel of scientists, science writers, and historians: Angela Saini (Author and Journalist, UK), Prof Anil Seth (Neuroscientist and Author, University of Sussex, UK), Pranay Lal (Author and Policy Adviser), Dr. Jahnavi Phalkey (Director, Science Gallery Bengaluru) and Prof Tarun Khanna (Author and Professor at Harvard Business School). 

  • Anyone based in India who is interested in writing a book based on science and technology can apply for the fellowship.
  • Applicants can apply as an individual or as a team. However, the Lead applicant should be based in India and will be responsible for administering the fellowship to their collaborator.
