India Biosecurity Fellowship

Mahatma Gandhi Medical Advanced Research Institute, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV; Deemed to be University) in collaboration with Gryphon Scientific LLC USA is pleased to announce the ‘India Biosecurity Fellowship.’ The program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and includes a three-day in-person conference in Chennai August 2024.
The goal of the fellowship is to empower and connect a generation of India biosecurity leaders in government, academia, and industry to combat traditional and emerging biothreats in India and worldwide. These threats include risks of laboratory accidents, data theft, misbehavior of laboratory personnel, unintended or deliberate release of biological materials, or the publication of “dual use” information that may enable others to cause harm.
Qualification
Have graduated from a PhD program in the last 10 years, OR another terminal degree program (e.g. PhD, DVM, MBBS) in the last 15 years, OR possess equivalent professional experience in national security, public health, medicine, biotechnology, laboratory sciences, global health, or a related field
